Store Associate -- Goodwill Industries of Mid-Michigan -- Oxford

The mission of the Store Associate is to ensure that donated goods and other items are processed in a timely and respectful manner and made available in a neat and clean sales area, where customers/donors receive courteous and professional service. The Store Associate is responsible to assist customers, providing a transaction receipt, and by providing a sincere 'thank you' on behalf of Goodwill. He/She is able to assist customer as a cashier, processor, or donation attendant as needed.
The ideal candidate for this position will know, practice, and promote Goodwill's mission, exhibit a cheerful and upbeat demeanor at all times, be physically able to lift and carry 35 pounds without accommodation, be willing to work on his/her feet for the entire shift, be able to bend reach and stoop, and have reliable transportation to report to work on a timely basis. In addition, the Store Associate must utilize effective communication and teamwork skills, possess good organizational skills and be able to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and evenings.
The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:
-- Assist in maximizing store sales and help increase the profile of Goodwill
-- Provide prompt and courteous customer/donor service
-- To achieve expectations for task assigned: Cashier -- Operate cash register and conduct sales-related functions as directed and according to policy, procedure and job standards
-- Maintain cash register variance to Goodwill's acceptable margin of error rate
-- Run 3 racks per hour
Processor -- Receive, process, price, and display merchandise as directed and according to policy, procedure and job standards
-- Achieve production standard Donation Attendant - Receive donations as directed and according to policy, procedure and job standards
-- Ensure donations are sorted when received
-- Maintain standard back room layout and orderliness to ensure efficiency
-- Assist with customer/donor concerns, handling them professionally
-- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the store
-- Assist in maintaining a safe and secure working environment
-- Adhere to all policies and procedures, maintaining a good attendance record
-- Cooperate with investigations
-- Support the mission of Goodwill Industries and abide by the Code of Ethics
-- Maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with all colleagues
-- Other duties as assignedEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
