Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Oxford Manufacturing Facility is a subsidiary of AAM, and is a leader of forged products for the automotive market. Currently, this automotive supplier needs a talented individual to fill the role of Mechanical Maintenance at our Oxford Michigan facility.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day to day operations and maintenance needs of the forging operation.
  • Supports the definition and maintenance of equipment specifications including pneumatic, hydraulic, and lubrication standards.
  • Troubleshoots and maintains production equipment, which includes hydraulic, mechanic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Works from engineering drawings and equipment specifications
  • Mentor other associates in proper maintenance techniques.
  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and diagnostic maintenance requirements on hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Performs preventive, predictive and pre-emptive maintenance and routine inspections.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years work experience in a similar role ideally in production orientated environment, with emphasis on stamping, presses, forming, and forging.
  • Must have Journeyman's card of 7-8 years of documented experience
  • Thorough knowledge of safety requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical theory.
  • Strong mechanical analytical problem solving ability.
  • Ability to read hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic blue prints.
  • Ability to troubleshoot lube and grease systems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skill.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Exercises interpersonal skills to work effectively at all levels.
  • Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to identify causes of problems and develops methods to correct these problems.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
