Job Title: Treatment Specialist

Supervised by: Site Supervisor

Employee Classification: Non-Exempt


Summary: The person in this position supervises the daily activities of the clients in the Agency?s programs and is supervised by a Site/Program Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.?

????????? Complies with the program procedures and ensures that program schedule is followed daily.

????????? Records clients? activities daily.

????????? Produces accurate and professional paperwork daily.

????????? Efficiently and appropriately utilizes Agency equipment, vehicles, buildings, and all resources, transports clients while following all vehicle and safety policies and procedures daily.

????????? Maintains line of site and ratio, maintains the clients? physical (examples:? CPR/1st Aid techniques, medication procedures) and emotional (examples:? treats clients with caring respect, encourages client to succeed) well-being.

????????? Utilizes Choice Theory / Reality Therapy / Collaborative Problem Solving and NVCPI techniques.

????????? Well versed in and upholds youth rights, helps clients learn Life Skills and schoolwork, holds clients accountable in a firm yet caring and respectful manner.

????????? Maintains good relationships with peers and his/her supervisor, and maintains appropriate boundaries with all persons with which he/she comes in contact during work time.

????????? Schedule is kept consistently and timely, with minimal absences, and minimal tardiness.

????????? Is a good steward of Agency Resources by using resources appropriately and efficiently, to ensure minimal waste and maximize efficiency of usage.



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must possess and maintain a valid Michigan Driver?s License with a driving record in accordance with the Agency?s licensing requirements. Must carry own vehicle insurance and provide proof of such to the Agency. Must meet satisfactory criteria of Agency with regard to the results of a pre-employment and annual required Central Registry Clearance, Criminal Background check, National and State Sex Offender check, HHS check, TB Test done annually. Must satisfactorily pass a pre-placement physical and drug screen.



????????? High School Diploma or GED required.

????????? Some related experience or relevant coursework required.

????????? Bachelor?s Degree with a concentration in a related field (Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice) OR equivalent combination of education / experience preferred.

????????? Must be at least 21 years of age.


Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, internet software; Microsoft Outlook.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to lift a minimum of 5-10 lbs. Must be able to show the physical competency to complete a one and/or two-person physical management per CPI techniques.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, drive, sit, bend, kneel, grab, hold, and restrain.

Position reports to multiple sites on our campus.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
